The consensus is clear…

life is better in the cortex!

What is the Cortex?

scroll over each part of the brain to learn more!

Pons

The pons develops between 0-5 months and controls functions like the fight-or-flight response and emotional regulation. Creeping on the belly is the key movement that helps develop the pons.

Primitive Reflexes

Primitive reflexes ensure survival in early life but need to integrate within a certain time frame. If unintegrated (or retained), they leave the brain stuck in survival mode.

Midbrain

The midbrain develops from 6-12 months and helps with focus, planning, and motor control. It develops when babies are crawling on hands and knees.

Cortex

The cortex, with billions of neurons, is crucial for memory, learning, and logical thinking. It's where we want to spend most of our time.
